Key tips
- Follow your teacher's instructions.
- If possible use biology techniques covered in class - culturing micro-organisms, use of a microscope, quadrat sampling
- Ask lots of questions.
- Keep to the guidelines given to you by your teacher.
- To achieve Excellence, positive comments to justify your conclusion are needed. Negative comments such as “I did not record time accurately? or “My agar plates were not the same size? destroys the reliability of the data or validity of the method therefore the investigation is not at an Excellence level.
- Practise writing step-to-step methods in which ANYONE could pick up your method and carry out the experiment correctly.
