Chemistry 2.3 Demonstrate understanding of the chemistry used in the development of a current technology
Subject content
- Current technology means technology in use today, but you can include the history of the development as far back as possible.
- You will be using secondary sources of information. Secondary sources are sources that are not the original research documents and could include textbooks, encyclopedias, reviews, magazine or journal articles, summaries in books etc
- Your teacher will guide you as to suitable technologies or may give you a range to choose from.
Examples could include conducting polymers, nanotechnology, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, paints, polymers, catalytic converters, fabric/fibre technology and alloys.
- This standard requires the use of chemistry vocabulary, symbols and conventions including, where appropriate, names, formulae and equations.
