1.2 Show understanding of visual text(s)
Assessment
- This is an external standard to be sat under examination conditions. You will not be able to take your notes into the examination.
- You will be given a booklet containing a choice of questions and space to plan and write your essay.
- You will write one essay of at least 200 words by choosing from a list of 6 different questions.
- Typically each question will have three sentences. The first part will ask you to describe an aspect of the text and the second part will ask you to explain why or how this aspect is important or significant in some way and the third part will ask you to discuss visual/oral text features in your response. You must answer each part of the question.
- You could divide your time like this:
- plan – 5 - 10 minutes
- write – 45 - 50 minutes
- proofread – 5 minutes.
