Narrative point of view
A narrator is the person telling the story. Point of view is the connection the narrator has to the subject matter, which is indicated by the pronouns used.
- First person – 'I' narrator is directly involved
- Second person – 'you' narrator is involved
- Third person – 'they, them'
- Omniscient narrator – 'they, them' narrator is removed
It is advisable to keep the same narrative point of view throughout your writing.
