Proofreading and editing
This is a vital stage of writing that cannot be overlooked. You must check for the following:
- ideas which are unclear or in the wrong order
- words which could be replaced or removed by stronger more appropriate words (see word choice).
- tense and point of view are the same throughout the piece of writing
- accuracy of punctuation, spelling and grammar.
