Formal language
Formal language (standard English) helps you to present your opinion in the clearest possible way. By using words that are familiar to most readers and avoiding colloquial language, jargon terms, abbreviations, cliches and contractions (would've becomes would have) your writing will be easier to understand.
It is important to keep an objective tone so your feelings about the topic don't confuse your main point.
