1.9 Research, Use information literacy skills to form conclusion(s)
Key questions OR hypothesis
To be able to make conclusions and/or judgments from your notes it is important to ask the right type of question or hypothesis. Use open questions starting with 'how and why' rather than closed questions starting with 'when or where', which only require short answers.
A hypothesis is a statement or opinion that needs to be proved correct or incorrect.
Be prepared to review your questions or hypothesis as you begin to select information.
You could base your key question or hypothesis around some of these aspects or topics:
- background information
- main events
- attitudes of an era
- people involved
- issues
- disasters
- results
- consequences.
