  • propose research questions which expand understandings of your topic
  • select relevant information from a range of referenced resources
  • present well-supported conclusions in an appropriate written format of over 700 words.

Achievement

Make sure you:

  • meet all the requirements of the research process – planning, collecting, recording, and organising information
  • ask 'open questions' which make you search for the answer by using more than one source
  • have questions that are an extension of your reading and encourage research into different areas allowing you to present findings
  • use a range of appropriate, relevant, and reliable sources so your analysis, evaluation, and judgments will be of a higher standard for all key questions
  • take accurate and relevant notes by selecting rather than copying relevant material
  • show an understanding of the main themes and techniques in your literature or language study
  • read through all your notes under each key question and select the best information for your report
  • organise your written report into an introduction, body, and conclusion
  • use your questions as headings to organise the body of your report
  • think about what the information suggests about the topic as a whole to form conclusions in each paragraph
  • write about 700 words.
