3.7 Complete independent research on a language or literature topic and present conclusions in writing
Presenting ideas
The report on your findings will make connections between the texts and develop judgments about the importance or significance of your chosen theme.
- Read through your answers for each question, highlight important information, and record your thoughts and opinions. Look for any trends or patterns in the information. You need to come up with the best answer from all your resources so you can answer the question in depth.

Introduction
State your language or literature topic and your main focus or angle, the title, and authors of all texts studied.
Paragraphs for key questions 1, 2, 3, (4)
Answer one question at a time in separate paragraphs using this structure:
- Use each key question as a heading and use a general statement or conclusion about all your texts as a topic sentence to begin your case or argument.
- Use a specific example from one of the texts to prove or expand the opening statement. State an important fact, quote or some detail from your notes.
- Make a generalisation based on this information and other patterns you can see emerging from your notes, answers from other sources.
- Link back to your topic and/or make a qualitative judgment to move your case or argument forward logically.
- Compare and/or contrast different texts to find.

Conclusion
This should not introduce any new material but tie up all your answers forming an overall conclusion relating to your topic. Do this by referring to your main focus and make statements about how these conclusions have been presented and the effect on the audience.
