Physics 2.1 Take measurements of physical quantities and analyse data graphically to determine a relationship

Subject content

  • You are required to demonstrate your ability to use instruments that:
    • have the potential for a parallax error
    • require a zero error correction or reading
    • have a digital display
    • have more than one scale to select from.

You need to demonstrate proficiency in the measurement of at least three different physical quantities.
  • Students will be expected to be familiar with the following graphs:
    • linear y = mx + b
    • square
    • inverse
    • inverse square.

Familiarity with exponential and log graphs is not required.

Visit It’s a wonderful line – data analysis using graphs – to have an introduction into the use of graphs to analyse data and to determine whether a relationship exists.
