Science 3.7 Report on a recent astronomical event or discovery

This achievement standard requires you to report on an astronomical event or discovery that has occurred in the last five years. Examples may include:

  • Mars discoveries
  • comets and asteroids
  • gamma ray bursters
  • extrasolar planets
  • black holes
  • Kuiper belt objects
  • solar flares
  • moons of Saturn
  • rings of Saturn.

Understand the research process:

  • plan the research - this may change as you progress
  • collect information
  • process information
  • produce a report. Your report will include a list of references written in such a way that another person can find them.
